DMOST: Disks around the MOST common stars

DMOST is an ALMA Large Program (ALMA ID: 2025.1.00324.L) is dedicated to studying the structure of the dust and gas in disks around young Very Low Mass Stars. These objects are the most common type of star in our galaxy, and yet, we still know little about how planets are formed around them.

As part of DMOST, we will study all the relevant outer disk properties of our sample, including their disk size, mass, height of emitting layers, and brightness temperature profile. This is the first time that these kinds of measurements will be possible for a sample of VLMS, as our program will almost double the ALMA time on source for nearby VLMS.

For more details about our sample, check the DMOST targets page.
